Bethany's Legacy
A Life That Continues
to Inspire Hope

Bethany R. Granata was 18 years old when her life was lost to an accidental overdose. But Bethany's story is about so much more than the circumstances of her death. Bethany was a daughter, sister, friend, cheerleader, and a young woman who brought her own special energy to the people around her. She had an amazing voice, and those who knew her could often hear her singing. She loved sports—especially hockey—and was a devoted Pittsburgh Penguins fan. Bethany also knew what it felt like to struggle. She experienced the pain of bullying and understood the toll that stress and difficult experiences can take on a young person'smental and emotional well-being. Perhaps because she understood what it felt like to need support herself, Bethany cared deeply about others. She had a special place in her heart for the underdog—for people who felt left out, misunderstood, or simply needed someone to believe in them. She wanted people to feel seen, supported, and accepted. That compassion continues to shape the work that carries her name. After losing Bethany, our family wanted her life to create hope and opportunity for other young people. That desire became the foundation for Little Wings of Hope and the Bethany R. Granata Endowed Scholarship Fund at Caron Treatment Centers. Today, Bethany's legacy reminds us why prevention and wellness must go beyond simply telling young people what not to do. Young people need knowledge, but they also need connection, healthy ways to manage stress, trusted people to turn to, and the confidence to ask for help when they need it. Every young person deserves to be seen, supported, and given the opportunity to build a healthier future.

Helping Young Adults Access Treatment

The Bethany R. Granata Endowed Scholarship Fund is held and administered by Caron Treatment Centers as part of Caron's endowed scholarship program. The fund was created with a particular commitment to helping young adults from Pennsylvania while allowing Caron to use available funds to support other young adults in the United States when appropriate. Funds are used to help provide financial assistance toward treatment at Caron for young adults who may otherwise face financial barriers to receiving care.

Caron Treatment Centers administers the Bethany R. Granata Endowed Scholarship Fund and determines recipients and financial assistance based on its established clinical and financial processes. Little Wings of Hope does not review applications, determine eligibility, or select scholarship recipients.

How the Fund Works

1. The Fund Provides Support

The endowed fund provides an ongoing source of financial assistance to help eligible young adults access treatment at Caron Treatment Centers.

2. Caron Determines Financial Assistance

Caron evaluates treatment needs and financial circumstances through its established processes and determines whether scholarship assistance is appropriate.

3. Bethany's Legacy Continues

Little Wings of Hope continues to support the endowed fund so Bethany's legacy can provide hope and opportunity for young adults and families for generations to come.

Help Create Hope for the Next Young Person

Bethany's legacy continues through every opportunity created for a young adult seeking treatment and through Little Wings of Hope's growing commitment to helping today's students build healthier futures. Donations to Little Wings of Hope support both the Bethany R. Granata Endowed Scholarship Fund and our prevention, wellness, and leadership work through Strong Starts: A Game Plan for Life. Together, we can help young people at two critical points in their journey—building stronger foundations through prevention and creating hope when treatment and recovery are needed.
